– Hot chocolate will be provided free in the covered patio in front of Bar Carlo (6433 SE Foster) from 4-6pm
– Carolers will be singing along SE Foster, stopping in front of various businesses between SE 63rd – 77th Ave from 4-5:30pm
– Red Castle Games (7610 SE Foster) will also be handing out free hot chocolate in their newly opened cafe from 4-6pm
– Carolers will make a brief stop at the Portland Mercado (7238 SE Foster) from 5:40-6pm

We’re lighting up Foster and shopping local this holiday season! Join Foster Area businesses as we make the neighborhood merry and bright.
What does it mean to Foster the Holidays?
First and foremost, it means supporting your local businesses as you eat, drink, and shop Foster this holiday season. Remember, ‘foster’ is a verb!
How are we Fostering this holiday season, you ask?
Lighting up Foster! Several local businesses will be lighting up their storefronts and adjacent sidewalks to make Foster extra festive for the holidays.
Shopping local! Foster is home to many shops and diverse businesses. Keep your money in the neighborhood by shopping local.
Find the tree! We’re making it extra fun to visit your local businesses this holiday season. Follow our Facebook and Instagram accounts as we post clues about where our “Foster Christmas Tree” is as it travels through the various shops, bars, cafes, and restaurants between November 25 – December 24. If you find the tree, make a purchase from the business it’s in, take a picture, and post it on Facebook or Instagram (tagging fosterareapdx)–your post will automatically enter you to win gift cards from some of your favorite Foster businesses.
Hot chocolate and Christmas carols! Yes, we’re getting into the spirit BIGLY this year. Join us on Saturday December 10, from 4-6pm, as we give out free hot chocolate and host carolers on Foster. Make the day extra special by shopping at your favorite Foster businesses, taking in the ambiance of Christmas carols, then dining/drinking at one of our many restaurants and/or bars. Bar Carlo will be hosting our hot chocolate table, and Red Castle Games will give out hot chocolate at their newly opened café.
