At the January membership meeting, Bernie Kerosky and Leila Aman from PDC were joined by Rich Newlands with PBOT to talk about the Foster Streetscape and what support neighborhood businesses can get through the city.
The very latest update from PBOT has construction beginning in 2017, but there are already some detailed maps on the website, which you can find here: http://www.portlandoregon.gov/transportation/57866
Bernie and Leila also presented on resources PDC is providing for business owners through the project. There are grants and loans for storefront improvements, as well as free technical support through the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
If you are interested in learning more about the financial assistance available to you, contact the Portland Development Commission at 503-823-3200.
If you are interested in free technical assistance for every business on the Foster Streetscape route (50th to 92nd), call the Hispanic Chamber at 503.222.0280 or check out all the services they offer at http://www.hmccoregon.com/business.html
Correction: The original title of this post said that the January meeting was the annual meeting. The annual meeting was in February.
