A Letter From The President

Posted on

Hello Foster Area Business Association Members,

First of all, congratulations on wildly successful new event. The Foster Area Tree Lighting had over 200 people in attendance, including Santa. Initial findings show that some retailers experienced a more than 50% increase in shoppers the evening of the Tree Lighting, and sponsors report increases in Facebook likes thanks to cross-promotional opportunities. Big thanks to our partners the Foster-Powell Neighborhood Association, and all our volunteers. We couldn’t have done this without them.

Now that you’ve seen what the new, invigorated Business Association can do, I feel confident in announcing that 2016 dues are increasing to $95. We have a huge year ahead of us. We have a brand new website currently under construction with bright, hi-resolution head shots for every member, along with social media marketing, district-focused blogging and so many more opportunities to promote your business and join in our collective success. We also have a district map coming out in the spring that will list every member for free, with members-only discounts on ad space that will more than make-up for a dues increase.

But we also want to thank you for your support through the years, and so we’re offering a member-exclusive deal for one time only. Any member who pays their dues before the annual meeting on Jan 12, 2016 will have the option of paying the old rate of $70 for the last time ever. We also have a brand-new membership rate for freelancers and other home-based businesses. In recognition of our strong freelancers group, the Foster Area Freelancers, dues for any home-based business are only $50.
